On a typical practice day, we don’t see many guys catching fish. They’re scouting. If they find a great spot they want to save it for the tournament.
But today we saw a bunch of fish caught in a 30-minute window. Mike Iaconelli caught one, Brent Ehrler caught one, Bobby Lane caught one, and an angler whose name we shall not mention caught five.
That tells us the fish are really biting. The high water and warmer temperatures this week have moved the bass up shallow. And when they’re shallow these guys can usually trick them into biting. The collective wisdom in our boat, Steve Bowman and David Mullins, say they’ll be catching a lot of fish this week.
