We started on Drew Benton this morning. After shooting the takeoff, dropping off photo cards etc., we headed down lake.
By the time we stopped on Benton he was catching his fourth keeper. After 15 minutes or so he boated his limit fish. A 4 1/2-pound stud that likely puts him in the lead with about 15 plus pounds.
I’ve not seen the other four up close. But a spectator told me he had a 4-pounder and the rest were 3-pound range.
Regardless he’s off to a good start. And the best thing is, besides the one spectator, there’s not a boat within sight.
