Slow going for Lee

The two-time reigning and defending world champion is working his way through a slow start. Not any indication of how Jordan Lee’s tournament will end up, I’m sure, but he’s only got one keeper. And barely.

It’s the first morning of the GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods, and the Alabama native made an hour-plus run into Tellico Reservoir—an area known for big smallmouths and plentiful largemouth. The smallmouth must be 18 inches or better, however.

A risky maneuver, but if it pays out, it’ll pay big.

Lee has caught six or seven fish so far, only one measured. But it’s early, and this dude has a nose for the fish.

Stay tuned.
