Reese making just the run he wanted

It’s still very early, but Skeet Reese is doing exactly what he had hoped to do coming into this event.

Ranked 51st in the Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings coming into the Lake St. Clair tournament, Reese needed at least a decent performance to make the final Top 50 in the AOY standings and qualify for next month’s Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship on Minnesota’s Mille Lacs Lake.

But he was hoping for much better than decent. He wanted a strong performance that would move him far enough up the AOY standings to be in solid contention for the 2018 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods.

So far, so good.

BASSTrakk currently has Reese in 10th place with a five-bass limit that weighs 18 pounds, 5 ounces.

He’s definitely on the right track.
