Edwin Evers has passed the halfway mark on his way to a limit. His third bass of a surprisingly slow morning weighed 2 pounds, giving him about 7 pounds so far. Other pros are catching them better, though, and Evers has slipped from fourth to 19th, according to the unofficial standings on BASSTrakk. But the day is not over by a long shot, and Evers only has to make up about 10 pounds to climb close to the leader, Seth Feider.
To do so, he will have to make a better connection with these fish. He has missed more than a dozen good strikes, and his frustration is starting to show.
