Moving on up

At long last, Edwin Evers has filled his limit and can now go about upgrading his catch. The reigning Classic champ's latest bass weighs about 2 pounds or so, giving him about 11 1/2 for the day and 42 pounds and change for the event -- if Bowman and I are guesstimating accurately. And that should put him well up in the Top 10 according to the last BASSTrakk leaderboard I've seen.

"It's getting that time to catch a big one," he told us.

He has worked his way to the back end of the lake, where most of the recreational anglers have been camped all morning. All have left for other parts of the lake, so Evers has this well-worn stretch all to himself.
