A mental game for Blaylock

BASSTrakk has Stetson Blaylock in second place with 21 pounds, or 1 pound behind leader Brandon Cobb.

This morning at the ramp he spoke with confidence about his odds of continuing to gain momentum after landing in 23rd place with 14 pounds.

“This lake in the fall is so tricky, and we have a lot of changes on the way with the moon and the first cold front of the year,” he said.

I think it’s all mental for me,” he continued. “I think that I just have to make the right decisions and stay head down and hustle hard.”

He described practice as a “mystery” because it was so tough. He went through several areas, catching a few keepers, then moving on.

“Yesterday went better than I expected,” he said. “I caught a few quality fish that clued me into what I’m doing now.”
