McKendree update

The McKendree University duo of Jacob Louis and JT Russell brought 22 pounds, 10 ounces to the scales on Wednesday to take an early 2-14 lead. After looking around for a few minutes I managed to find them. It didn't take long for them to connect with their 5th keeper of the day as Louis set the hook into a good one. After landing it he said "Thank you! That's the biggest one of the day and week."

They estimated it was a 6 pounder and certainly a kicker for their Day 2. Right now they have a squeaker, 2 fish in the 16 inch range, a 3+ pounder and the aforementioned 6. That probably has them around the 14 pound mark and probably guaranteed to fish tomorrow.

They got their limit at 8:30 this morning, but they said it was slower than Wednesday and they've had to work harder to locate where their fish positioned. It's a good start for the Day 1 leaders so far.
