I snuck a little closer to Lester and remarked how much the jovial factor has gone up since that first fish came in the boat.
Lester reiterated how much pressure he was feeling.
“You just have no idea what that felt like,” he said. “You don’t want to be that guy that has two days to catch one and doesn’t do it.”
Jared Rudd, his co-angler added: “And I was scared to say anything.”
With those words out of their mouth, Lester hooked up and boated his second keeper of the day. This one a chunky spotted bass.
He’s off to a good start.
