Three things I’ve learned watching Cliff Pirch this morning:
1. He turns the Lowrance on his console to face him while fishing on the front deck. He glances at both his bow unit (transducer at front) and the rear one (transducer at back) to identify the direction fish are swimming so he can cast in front of them for perfect bait placement.
2. He wears a visor for a reason: his hair is fantastic.
3. Every time I start writing a blog entry, he sets the hook on a fish. His current battle is a good one. Lots of backreeling with this fish. He is seriously the most patient angler I’ve watched fight a fish. “It’s a giant,” we just heard him say. He lands it and holds it high. At least 4 pounds. He may already have 19 pounds.
