Here we go. Steve Kennedy caught a 4-pound, 3-ounce smallmouth bass on his first cast of the day. He caught it on, of course, a swimbait, which is easily Kennedy’s favorite lure.
Some superstitious anglers might be a little squeamish about a first-cast catch. It seems like a kiss of death at times. But a 4-pounder here is a big fish – a difference-maker. Kennedy is excited and justifiably so.
