Keepers in a haystack

We watched Tyler Rivet work all around the pocket where we found him, and although he missed a couple of what appeared to be strikes, he did not add to his total of 18-14. He remains in second place, according to BASSTrakk.

He just moved across the river to a vast weedbed and is trying to find keepers in a hydrilla haystack. It’s easy to locate hydrilla on this lake – you simply go at slow speed until you find a swarm of “hydrilla gnats.” I don’t know how these anglers can fish with the bugs swarming around their faces.

It takes concentration to catch bass in these conditions — even more so with gnats in your nostrils.
