Bradley Roy seems extremely poised and relaxed despite having a slow morning to this point. He just passed within a few feet of our camera boat and commented with a big smile: "Don't these fish know I'm trying to win the Classic?"
Perhaps that's because, in spite of being just 26 years old and competing in his first Classic, Roy has been playing this bass tournament game for a long time. He started fishing tournaments at the age of 8 with his father, and he won the Junior Bassmaster World Championship in 2004 when he was 13. At 19, he became the youngest qualifier ever on the Bassmaster Elite Series. He won Rookie of the Year honors soon thereafter. Seven years later, he's something of an Elite Series veteran. He'll need to call on that experience to maintain a clear head if his fish continue to be less than cooperative.
