The practice period on Kentucky Lake over the last few days has had beautiful weather for the 230 boats, but with the tropical storm hitting the Gulf and areas just a couple hundred miles south of here it has impacted today's conditions.
The threat of rain and thunderstorms had teams antsy this morning, but the wind seems to be the story so far. A sustained 15-plus mph wind has made Kentucky Lake a tad rough and waves have been white capping since I made it out on the water at 6:45.
This could change up the whole game on Day 1 as some shallow anglers could find more success compared to the teams fishing offshore in the line of the wind and waves.
There is still a good amount of rain in the forecast as some projections believe roughly 2 inches of rain should fall on this area of Tennessee. Some substantial rainfall should start before noon today.
