The daily bass siesta

Lake Conroe’s bass are seemingly taking a mid-day siesta this week. It might be due to a nighttime feeding spree in association with the March new moon, which is 100% on Monday night. You’re seeing some of that on BASSTrakk now in the lack of fish catches.

“It seems that from 9:30 until about 1:30 or 2:00 it’s hard to catch one,” Jason Christie said after Friday’s weigh-in. “The shad spawn in over. They’re just hard to catch. These fish are feeding a lot at night with what’s going on with the moon. It seems like they just lay up until it’s time to feed again.”
