The results are in from the fourth stop of the Dockside Marine Tournament Trail held at the Hwy. 90 ramp on the E. Pearl. 13 Teams showed up to battle it out on what was a surprisingly good weather forecast for a change. Light winds and warm weather had most of the anglers fired up leading up to the safe-light blast off. As Jay called out the numbers one by one sending the teams headed in all directions it appeared as no stone would be left unturned in this event.
As the teams returned for the 3 p.m. weigh-in, it seemed as most had a good day catching numbers of fish but it was just a few who had the size needed to be atop the leaderboard.
Taking the top spot that comes with all the bragging rights was the team of Tony Cooper and Corey Wheat. They dropped an impressive sack of 14.71 pounds of fish along with the tournaments Biggest Bass which was a 4.60-pound lunker. Coming in a close second was the team of Jason Stevens and Terry Jones with another nice stringer of 14.28 pounds. Rounding out the top three was the team of Shane Pope and Joel Lee with 12.50 pounds.
The points race is as close as ever and will come down to the last event on June 2nd to determine who will go to the B.A.S.S. Team Championship in December to represent the trail against anglers from all over the country. Gary Henries and Toby Cooper are still hanging on to the lead by just one single point with Jake Impastato and Jeff Devillier breathing down their necks.
Power rankings points awarded: Tony Cooper and Corey Wheat 13 points each for First, Jason Stevens and Terry Jones 6.5 points each for Second, and Shane Pope and Joel Lee 3.25 points each for Third. Congrats to all the anglers in the top three of this event.
