Christie’s nerves of steel

Jason Christie typifies the nerves of steel required to compete in a tournament like the Classic. Wherever else would a guy nonchalantly comment that he will treat one of the biggest days of the year like it’s a practice day?

Here is what he told me this morning.

“I treated Friday like it was a new practice day and I plan to do that again today. Putting together another piece of the puzzle is what I plan to do, and hopefully things will fall into place like they did yesterday for me around noon.”

What happened at noon was Christie changed tactics during that day he treated like a practice day. If you think about it treating a day like a practice day is a wise move. It leaves your mind open to new ideas, changing tactics until dialing into the bite, instead of locking into a pattern that might not produce.
