An iconic location on this scenic Alabama lake, Chimney Rock is a popular summer party spot where the adventurous types like to jump from the cliffs into 120 feet of Tallapoosa River water.
There are varying heights one can choose to leap from, and if agility is a strong suit, it’s very manageable. Just don’t belly flop.
The artful graffiti represents favorite college football teams, declarations of love and even a “Trump For President” painting. It all looks good, and my younger self may have risked life and limb to chance the cliff dive.
Nowadays, I’ll just take pictures.
The final picture is of the actual “Chimney Rock”, named because it looks like a chimney on top of the rocky island.
Pretty neat spot.
