We found Miles Burghoff way up a creek in the river portion of Douglas. Burghoff is feeling good about his start. He estimated that his limit would weigh around 10 pounds. Burghoff also mentioned that he was confident that his pattern was going to get better with the falling water.
He fished this area on the first day of practice and claims that the water has fallen 2 feet since. Normally, the first week of September is when the Core of Engineers begins to generate water for the winter draw down period. They are roughly a week late on pulling water, but they are certainly making up for it by the amount they are generating. From midnight to midnight tonight, it’s projected to fall another foot. The fluctuation is much more noticeable in the river than anywhere else on the lake.
