Bobby Lane sneaks into top five

It seems like a lifetime since I’ve seen a keeper boated. I hope it’s not that long before the next one.

Bobby Lane just caught his third keeper after a fast start this morning. The fish, from a distance, appeared to be in 2 1/2- to 3-pound range and will likely move him to the top three.

That should give you an idea of how tough this event is today. Lane only had two keepers for the longest and he never dropped out of the top 10. Now with three in the boat he is in the top five. That kind of movement for very few fish just doesn’t happen often on the Bassmaster Elite Series.

Lane, though, just got a blessing. If he can finish out his limit with the caliber he’s been catching, he could easily be in the lead by days end. Then again there may not be enough hours in the day if the next one takes this long.
