Big bass so far is Kennedy’s 4-3

The biggest bass landed on the first two days at Pokegama Lake was the 4-pound, 3-ounce smallmouth bass that Steve Kennedy caught on his first cast of Day 1. Next in line are a pair of 3-pound, 10-ounce bass caught by Adrian Avena and Mike Iaconelli. So you can see why Iaconelli was so excited about that 3-7 to start the day.

However, 5- and 6-pounders aren’t uncommon at Pokegama. Dave Lefebre hooked a largemouth on Day 1 that he estimated at 5 to 5 1/2 pounds, but it broke him off on a boat dock. We’re still waiting to see one of those Pokegama game-changers hit the scales.
