Behind the wheel in the offseason

Some may ask, what does an Elite Series Pro do in their offseason? Some may be in the deer stand, but for Marty Robinson and Britt Myers, they prefer spending time behind the wheel of the boat, for their sons who fish in SC high school bass fishing tournaments.

“Obviously, it’s a good chance for me to spend time with them. It works out perfect because of the amount of travel a family has to endure during an Elite Series season, and their season just begins when we get off,” Robinson said.

Marshall Robinson, and partner, Mason Fulmer, of the Byrnes Rebels High School fishing team are participating in the 4th annual Riley’s Catch event on Lake Wylie — a 300-plus-boat high school tournament. Robinson’s wife, Iris, started the event with the singing of the National Anthem.

“It’s very rewarding to see what they’ve learned and see them implement it in a tournament situation without any help,” Robinson continued.

The memorial tournament showcases teams from South Carolina and North Carolina.
