Unlike the unseasonably warm practice days this week, the Bassmaster Elite at Cherokee Lake has begun with typical early February weather for northern Tennessee: 34 degrees, cloudy, 8 mph winds from the northwest, gusting to 12 mph, resulting in a wind chill factor of 28 degrees. There’s even some frozen precipitation in the air.
The forecast is for a high of 40 degrees today. Another warming trend begins Friday with a high of 56 predicted, then highs in the 60s over the weekend.
I guess the weather is fitting for a lake that’s notorious for it’s finicky fishing – great one day, puzzling the next.
