Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year

Hackney's big reels

Nov 20, 2014

The spools Hackney prefers are larger than those of pretty much every other Elite Series angler on tour, and most likely the ones you’re using too.

Greg Hackney is Angler of the Year

Greg Hackney finishes off an amazing year with his greatest prize -- Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year.

Toyota AOY Results

1st Place
Greg Hackney
Hackney has opened up his lead and is guaranteed his first AOY if he finishes in the top 15 at the Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship at Bays de Noc. After missing the Bassmaster Classic last year, he's been a man on a mission.
2nd Place
Aaron Martens
The defending champ would love to repeat, but he'll need help. He needs a very strong finish in the AOY Championship, and he needs AOY leader Greg Hackney to stumble ... just a little. If Martens can do it, it would be his third AOY.
3rd Place
Todd Faircloth
Faircloth was AOY runner-up in 2008 and is a perennial contender for fishing's most prestigious crown. He's at his best in the tough tournaments, consistently catching limits while others struggle. An AOY title would be first major crown.
