Alan Olsen elected to the Oregon State Senate.

Salem, Oregon; Alan Olsen (R-Canby), an avid fisherman and past president of the Oregon B.A.S.S. Federation, has been elected to the Oregon State Senate to represent Senate District 20. He will immediately be putting his natural resources and sports fisherman expertise to use on the Senate Environment and Natural Resources Committee, where he has been appointed as Vice Chair.

Louisiana, host state of the Feb. 18-20 Bassmaster Classic, has produced two Classic winners: 1975 champ Jack Hains of Rayne, La., and 1980 champ Villis P. "Bo" Dowden of Natchitoches, La. Hains took his title on Currituck Sound in North Carolina; Dowden won on the St. Lawrence River in New York.
