The first thing that any angler fishing Lake Erie has to take into consideration is the weather, in particular I’m talking about the wind. It’s nasty and it’ll wreak havoc on anything you try to do.

Terry Butcher fishes the final day of the Bass Pro Shops Central Open #2 on the Arkansas River in Muskogee, Okla.
We've watched Terry Butcher cull twice more. The trade-ins are the 14-inch minimum keepers in his livewell. He's upgraded three of them so far. I blogged earlier about the first, a 4-pounder.
James Overstreet's phone just rang and it was Edwin Evers. The Bassmaster Elite Series pro was calling to check in on his brother-in-law Terry Butcher. James tells me he gave Edwin a ring last night for an intel report on where to find Butcher, also an Elite Series pro, and to get details on his game plan. Obviously, it changed since last night for the better.
Photo: James Overstreet Terry Butcher just culled a 14-inch keeper and replaced it with a 4-pounder. Not a bad switch. His decision to stay put and not make the long run and lock through into the Kerr pool was a wise move. He's cut back on the rotation of baits. The clear front-runner is the spinnerbait, which yielded the big fish.
