Sep 25, 2014

Doug Brownridge followed up his massive 24-pound, 5-ounce bag on Day 1 of the 2014 Old Milwaukee B.A.S.S. Nation Eastern Divisional with one that weighed 24-2, extending his lead in the tournament on the St. Lawrence River to nearly 6 pounds.

Day 2 has been less productive for many competitors, but one -- Doug Brownridge -- is catching 'em just as well as he did when he led on Day 1.

21, easy

Sep 25, 2014

Doug Brownridge has them again today.  "I've got 21, easy," said the Day 1 leader. "Now I'm just putting my co-angler on some fish." "Yeah, now it's all about me," said Michael McNamara with a smile. "He's got 21 and I've got nothing!" "Don't listen to him," said Brownridge. "He's got a stud -- 5 1/2 pounds at least." The pair are excitedly hopping from one spot to another now having a good time.

Terrible day

Sep 25, 2014

Randy Lamanche of New York had 19 pounds this time yesterday. Today, he's got nothing.  "Zip, zero," said Lamanche. "It's a terrible day." In the same spot where he caught his weight yesterday, he and his co-angler only caught one. Eloy Fernandez Jofre of the Spain team caught that one, so he'll for sure have a reason to walk across the stage today.  Lamanche thought the wind today would help, but so far it hasn't. There's plenty of time left.

Postcard scene

Seeing good ones

Sep 25, 2014

John Lamour of Ontario and Peter Knight of New York have been in the right spots, apparently.  "We've seen some good ones," said Lamour, "but we can't make them bite." Lamour has two 4-pounders in the boat. Knight doesn't have any yet.

Not much

Sep 25, 2014
