Easter is a wild weekend around here, at least as wild as the Iaconelli household gets.
This was supposed to be an off week for us but it’s turned into one of the busiest I’ve (we’ve) had all year. Sometimes I think the easiest part of this is fishing tournaments.
The Table Rock event went a little better.... I can say that at least it wasn’t a complete disaster like the first two Elite Series events.
My thinking about the third group we were talking about — the group that gets upset, learns and then puts everything behind them — is that it’s really the only viable option you have.
Last week I said something like my tournament performance on Seminole was horrible.
My tournament performance on Lake Seminole was horrible. I didn’t get it done. Heck, I didn’t even come close to getting it done.
There are times when almost any color will catch bass. The bites on; they’re eating with total abandon. But that’s not the way it is most days. Easy doesn’t usually define fishing.

Randy Howell is our new Classic champion. I know it was a photo finish, that he came from behind, had huge sacks of fish and that he’s a really nice guy with a really nice family. But that’s not the story I want to tell.
I guess today shouldn’t surprise me. I had a tough practice and I had a tough first day at the 2014 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by Diet Mountain Dew and GoPro.
