CONROE, Texas — In 2012, the Texas B.A.S.S. Nation did more work on Lake Conroe as part of a long-term aquatic habitat restoration program on the fishery. The project has been ongoing since 2006. For 2012, members of the Texas B.A.S.S. Nation added 4 acres of artificial habitat to the lake. The members used spiderblocks enhanced with bamboo. In addition, the chapter restocked 5 miles of shoreline with native aquatic plants with the goal of recolonizing the lake for fisheries recruitment.
New Mexico club’s suspended vegetation mat study was given a green light by a major reservoir program.
The Reservoir Fisheries Habitat Partnership is looking for more organizations that are passionate about protecting America’s lakes.
