Chris Zaldain is having a good day. Not quite as good as BASSTrakk credited him with earlier. But this is one of two 4-pound smallmouth he's got in his livewell. He landed this one about 11 a.m. today and it was his fourth fish in the well. Zaldain is having a good year. He came to La Crosse ranked 13th in AOY points. But he's not having a particularly good tournament. He qualified for the Top 50 cut by ounces - in 44th place.
Skeet Reese unofficially at five fish for 9 pounds. Skeet has been fishing in an area with no service all day, and BassTrakk has been unable to update his weight.

I'm a little late in posting this but wanted to give proper recognition to my Day 1 camera boat driver Brian Beebe of Rice Lake, Wisc. He was also a camera boat driver for us at the 2012 Elite Tournament here in La Crosse. Beebe (no one seems to use his first name) got involved with us because of Darren Jacobson, who he called his mentor. Darren is the northern account manager for Strike King, and in his spare time he takes terrific tournament photos for Bassmaster.com.
