Chris Lane and Shaw Grigsby are fishing just a few yards apart and sharing pleasantries while they work. Lane said he has two keepers for a combined weight of about 2 1/2 pounds, which means he must have caught one we didn't see. Grigsby doesn't have a keeper yet. Also, disregard what I said earlier about Aaron Martens being in this cove as well. He's apparently decided he's gotten all he can out of this place this week and decided to look elsewhere.
Lester working hard to put number 5 in the boat but hasn't got it yet but from what I have seen so far this morning it shouldn't be long. Just as I figured didnt take long to get No. 5. Photo by Bassmaster Marshall Josh Lowry
Chris Lane now has two keepers in the boat for about 2 1/2 pounds. He unofficially takes the lead back from Aaron Martens who had two quick keepers this morning. According to BASSTrakk the rest of the Top 5 shapes up as: 3rd place Brandon Lester— 4 fish today for 9 pounds 4th place John Crews— 4 fish for 8 pounds 2 ounces 5th place Shaw Grigsby— no keepers today.
Chris Lane relocated to the same pocket where Shaw Grigsby and Aaron Martens have been catching the majority of their fish this week, and he just landed his first keeper of the day. It looked to be 14-15 inches long. Now the anglers who began the day in first, second and third place are fishing within sight of one another.

John Crews has three fish in the livewell and has approximately 6 pounds. He is in 5th place unofficially. Crews had the biggest bag yesterday and tied for biggest bag of the event when he had 15 pounds 10 ounces. Crews is catching them faster than most right now.
This 40ft long tree has been pushed 1/4 mile upstream in this bayou from the stronger current on the bayou.
Aaron Martens is persistently placing his spinnerbait in any good looking spot he can find. I'm hanging with Garrick Dixon today and Garrick decides he's going to get on the sketchiest-looking dock out here and grab some shots of Aaron. See if you can spot the spinnerbait flying over Garrick's head in the last photo.
