Aaron Martens just culled 2-pounder in the livewell. He already caught more than two limits of keepers. He has just backed most 2-pounders into the river without balancing. "No time, no time! I need more pounds, not ounces. No time to cull for ounces."
The Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year race loosened up a little for Edwin Evers yesterday. With Kevin VanDam and Aaron Martens running third and fourth, respectively, after Day 2, and Evers in 25th place, KVD and the Natural had closed the gap to less than 30 points.
An Open Letter To Brandon Palaniuk: Welcome To…IT “Cause it…” Dateline: Brett & Shirley’s Kitchen, Waddington, NY It is, not the punch we deliver, that makes us stronger, It is, the punch we take, that makes us stronger. It is, not lifting the heavyweight belt, that makes us stronger, It is,
Jonathon VanDam just landed his fourth fish. It weighed less than 3 pounds, which should give him around 11 or 12 pounds for the day. He and Pipkens parted awhile ago, but Kevin Hawk is within sight and he's caught two almost back to back. Before I could finish this post, JVD landed another, smaller than the last one, so he's got a limit n
I don't know where they came from, but there are four spectator boats watching Palaniuk right now. I guess there are BASS fans everywhere you go. We have a beautiful day out here on Henderson Bay. Not too windy, sunny, lots of action from Palaniuk. There has been a lull in the action. "I don't know where that school of big bass went," Palaniuk says. I bet he finds them again soon.
Kevin Hawk just landed a 3 and a quarter pounder. That's three fish in the box for him today, we're estimating about 9 to 10 pounds total. Kevin is not getting many bites. As soon as he got this smallie in the livewell he quickly moved about a hundred yards to another spot. Frequent movement has been his style all morning.
Yeager just reminded me that Palaniuk started fishing this morning where he stopped fishing yesterday. After fishing his first spot yesterday, Palaniuk moved farther into the bay and caught two good fish. He started there today and already has over 20 pounds. Smooth move. Palaniuk just caught a small one and is fighting another bass now. It's another small fish that is too little to cull anything he has in the box.
Palaniuk lands another bass. This one will go 4 pounds. You can hear the excitement in his voice. He culls and must be up to 20 pounds or more by now. Seigo jumps into Palaniuk's boat to get some close-up photos. We have got one happy crew here.
