Rook makes a run at top 5

Aug 8, 2014

We're following Scott Rook in a long creek channel. He just put keeper number five in his livewell, giving him 9 plus pounds, which may put him into the top 5. Scott is running and gunning, making short moves, using his big motor as much as his trolling motor. Rook is a noted river angler who grew up fishing the Arkansas River using a similar style. Perhaps a similarity in the river current of the Arkansas and the tidal current of the Delaware is the fish tend to be more active when the water is moving.

Ike looking good on BASSTrakk

Aug 8, 2014

Mike Iaconelli, who was the overwhelming local favorite for this event, is on a roll today. Not only is he already culling, but all of his culls are for considerable weight. Unofficially, three anglers have over 10 pounds today and Iaconelli has the biggest bag of the three. Todd Faircloth and Matt Herren have just over 10 pounds while Ike's limit is getting closer to the 15-pound mark. Cull after cull is helping his weight and after a decent day yesterday, the 15 pounds have jumped him into the lead. He has a solid 2-pound lead on the rest of the competition — unofficially.

Finding Grigsby

Aug 8, 2014

After miles of idling -- mostly in the wrong direction -- we find Shaw Grigsby. He's tucked into a quiet little cove where he and his marshal are the only two people within shouting distance. Dixon turns the GoPro drone on and flies it over Grigsby's boat. Grigsby is making long casts to the bank on either side of his boat.
