David Walker said this was under water yesterday. It's the old locks in Wetumpka.
Ace boat driver Mike Noble said Edwin Evers is catching fish like mad down the canal. So we come upon the Oklahoma pro and learn he has a limit, and has culled four times. Edwin doesn't say much on the water, but the word we're hearing from Noble and another spectator boat is that Evers has approximately 18 pounds in the live well. He was whacking them with a crank bait. He started the day in third place with 35 pounds, 11 ounces, so he clearly plans on sticking around to fish on Sunday.

I've been fishing this area for 40 years. Never seen a fiberglass boat below Jordan dam. It takes 6 to 8 miles of nerve racking white water to get to where Jared Miller is in this photo.
The Top 50 Elite Series pros get another day to figure out this changing fishery.

It's 7:50 a.m. and Randy Howell has a limit. It's probably about 13-plus pounds right now. That last fish on the same jig, was about three and a quarter, it appears through my binoculars. Just got a report that Edwin is turning on farther down the canal. He boated a 4 pounder and then put another good one in the tank, I hear. And there's another one from Evers, we are told. Chris Zaldain just flew past us toward the dam. Howell picked up, probably going to guard the spot he's been starting on all day.
