Wheeler adds fish No. 4 with a 1 pound spot. Update by Bassmaster Marshal Roger Metz
See the Top 25 anglers set out onto Lake Hartwell for the third and final day of the 2015 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by GoPro.
Rojas just caught his second fish of the day, but it was a striped bass. Still, it shows that there are enough baitfish in the area to hold larger predatory fish.
Two fish busted the water right beside Jacob Wheeler's boat ... he reeled in, dropped it straight down, hooked up, got the fish to the top where it came unbuttoned, dropped it down again, and boated a 2-pounder. Too fast for a picture! Update by Bassmaster Marshal Roger Metz
Okay bass fans, here's some miscellany I've uncovered in my Bassmaster Classic prep – no particular order. Usually I circulate these to a select few people, but this time I'm sharing with you too. Hope you enjoy. Docks > Some anglers will try to win it shallow. Hartwell's docks hold fish year round, but probably not enough to win a multi-day tournament.
Iaconelli caught his three fish this morning on the new Rapala Shadow Rap.
It seems that in the Super Bowl of bass fishing that big comebacks are the norm. Randy Howell came from 11th place and 9 pounds behind to win last year.
Bobby Lane's Veritas 2.0 doubled over. He set the hook hard, but as he started to crank it in, the bass came off.
Bobby Lane asked me to post a picture of the lure he used to catch his biggest fish on Day 2. I asked if I could have it; he just smiled. But he has yet to respond. I'll let you know when he decides to answer. Update by Bassmaster Marshal David Findley
