Early starters and a correction

Feb 25, 2012

It’s 8:01 and I’m already retracting a statement. That’s a bad start. Iaconelli has two fish for 5 pounds (a 3 and a 2), so the elusive kicker fish is still elusive.   Brent Chapman, who finished Day One in 23rd with 11-14, also has 2 for 5 (also a 3 and a 2). Of course, this is all BASSTrakk and it’s all unofficial.   Good news for team Palaniuk too. He has caught his first two fish of the Classic this morning.

Iaconelli has a 5-pounder

Feb 25, 2012

Michael Iaconelli did not have the best day way. His 10 pounds, 7 ounces left him in 31st place and more than 7 pounds behind the lead. You’ll be able to read about it shortly in his Going Ike column.   He led with this: “I’m not especially happy with how things went today but I will say that it’s a fishing tournament and this is the way things go sometimes. But here’s the thing, I really don’t have a reason, or even an excuse, for not catching bigger fish. It just didn’t happen.”

Racing to the lock

Feb 25, 2012

If this tow and barge gets to the lock before the anglers headed downstream reach the lock, they could experience be delays.
