"Sweetpea is my black lab," said Brad Houchins. "She loves to fish. I have actually seen her catch bluegill by herself." Houchins took this photo while he was crappie fishing. "I had the bucket with me while my friend was on the other side. She would swim across, get his fish, swim back and put the fish in the bucket. She really is something special."
"Fred is a rescue dog," said Bryan Bramblett. "He belonged to a truck driver who could no longer care for him. My wife and I had recently lost our beloved Blue Heeler from old age. We were heartbroken and not ready for another dog. Fred came into our lives two years ago on Christmas Day. He is so much fun and keeps us laughing all of the time. One of his favorite things is going fishing! Any time he see's a fishing pole, he gets excited. We never leave home without him."

"This is Oreo and Minnie Mouse. If the boat leaves, they are in it ," said Glynn Prestenbach of Louisiana. "Both have been fishing with my wife and me since they were pups. I still say Minnie Mouse can smell a bream bed."

"KC would jump off the boat , swim to shore and do his thing," said Liddle. "I, in turn, would fish another bank a few hundred yards away. When it was time to move to another location I would pick him up, and off we would go."

She likes to roam the boat when I am fishing but stays in the cockpit while we are under way. Every fish I catch, she thinks she has to lick before it goes in the live well. Because she does not swim well, she has her own life jacket."
"Harley and Heidi go with my wife, Lisa, and me on all our fishing trips," said Jeff W. "Harley likes to sit where he is in this pic and rule his domain. Heidi sits on the front deck with me and barks at the fish we bring in the boat — when she's not chasing her ball in the bottom of the boat."

To say he's man's best friend is an understatement. Justin loves this dog more than he loves fishing (and that's saying a lot). When he can fish WITH Marley, both of their days are made. He sits so pretty the entire time they're on the boat. We have another dog that would literally flip out if you tried to put her on the boat, so this is very impressive to me. This is a pretty "Bass Dog" riding in a pretty Bass Cat."
"My little girl — Maggie, aka Schmoopie — is 16 years old and LOVES to go fishing!" said Magnolia. "Even though she is mostly blind and becoming senile, she still knows when we are gearing up for a day on the water. She spends most of her time sniffing around the launch before settling into her comfy collapsible crate on board the jonboat. I know the day will be coming soon where she may no longer be with us, but until that time she is our BEST first mate!"
"This is my best friend," said Mark Castle.
"This is my fishing buddy, Kevin McDonald, and his dog, Willie," said Mike Belue. "The picture is on Santee Cooper. Willie loved going fishing and was great to have on the boat. Sadly, Willie passed away Dec. 21, and fishing just won't be the same. Great memories, though."
