Joel Baker just landed his third keeper. He now has the triple crown in the box for about 9 pounds. Photo by Bassmaster Marshal Terry Kennedy.
We just stopped and found Brent Chapman and he told us he had had a pretty decent day with about 12 and a half pounds so far. He has caught about 10 keepers today and he was surprised he hasn't caught one in the five minutes we've been here.
While some guys we've seen today, like Brandon Palaniuk, are catching fish on windy points, at least one angler has found himself a sweet spot out of the wind. And it's a really sweet spot. Timmy Horton said he's caught at least 50 fish this morning while culling up to about 14-plus pounds. He said all of them came on an Azuma crankbait.
Instead of banjo music coming from the hills, I think I hear Gordon Lightfoot referencing the gales of November...brrr! The bite has really slowed down. Kelly has culled twice. Photo by Bassmaster Marshal Dan Shine.
Mark Davis is leading the AOY race for the first time since 2008 (also after three events). That year he finished 12th.
