Having a dad who is a professional fisherman is pretty cool. The best part about it is that I get to spend a lot of time with him. Also, being an aspiring angler, I get to take advantage of his knowledge, which gives me a leg up on the competition.
When we're out, he just tells me a lot of things that most people have to learn through trial and error. Things like where bass are in different seasons, what they react to and they're habits. All I have to do is ask. It's quite the perk. However, the best part about having a dad who is a pro fisherman is that I get to go to work with him.
For most kids, their dad goes to work in the morning and they don't see him all day until dinner. Our whole family goes on the road everywhere, and this wouldn't be near as much fun if I didn't like fishing.
I love spending time with him, and being on the road lets us stay close.
