Traveling tournament support trailer

Two Louisiana B.A.S.S. Nation members are taking their service business on the road.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Longtime B.A.S.S. Nation member Ken Sherman and his son, Devin Sherman, will be showing up at tournaments this year with their Front 2 Back fisherman support team trailer.

“Ken and I have been kicking this idea around for more than a year now,” said Devin Sherman. “We wanted to do something to reach out to the fishermen. Ken used to be really big in the fishing tournaments, and I got into it a little bit.”

Ken and Devin are both members of the Baton Rouge Bassmasters and owners of the Front 2 Back Boat Service in Baton Rouge.

The Shermans plan to haul an 8-by-20 enclosed trailer full of boat parts, trolling motors, batteries, lures and other supplies to tournament sites where they can assist anglers who need emergency repairs. The trailer is equipped with purple-and-gold cabinets, a work bench, air-conditioning and an inventory of parts and supplies anglers might need during a tournament.

The new support team trailer will be on the road frequently in its inaugural year.

“So far we’ve got 24 tournaments with seven redfish tournaments and the rest bass tournaments across South Louisiana,” said Devin. He noted they are also might try to provide their services at a Louisiana B.A.S.S. Nation state qualifier if they can work it into their schedule.
