Lane hosts team tournament, June 13

Bassmaster Elite Series pro Chris Lane, in conjunction with Guntersville Foodland Plus, will host the inaugural Foodland Bass Team Tournament on Lake Guntersville, June 13.

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. — Bassmaster Elite Series pro Chris Lane, in conjunction with Guntersville Foodland Plus, will host the inaugural Foodland Bass Team Tournament on Lake Guntersville, June 13.

The tournament begins at safe light, and approximately 200 two-person teams will be chasing the $10,000 grand prize.

“I am truly excited to be hosting this fantastic event along with the good people at Foodland,” said Lane, winner of the 2012 Bassmaster Classic. “We want the whole community to come out and be part of the fun of this great Alabama tradition, bass fishing!”

A festival will be open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. at Guntersville Foodland Plus at 14214 U.S. Highway 431. James Miller will provide live music, and games and food will be available for kids and families.

A registration dinner hosted by Bryan Meats will take place Friday, June 12. The weigh-in will begin at 2 p.m. on June 13 at Guntersville Foodland Plus.

In addition to the guaranteed $10,000 grand prize, a big bass prize goes to the two anglers who weigh in the two biggest fish.
