I fish in front of the spawning flats & target early season grass. Use a lipless crankbait & a vibrations jig.

If I had one bait to pick, it would be a Texas-rigged junebug straight-tail worm. It catches fish no matter what.

I use an oversize flippin' hook. I helped create that bait to fit an oversize hook 5/0 VMC heavy duty flipping hook

Fish as much as possible, learn all baits and techniques. Get a degree in something that relates to the fishing industry - marketing, pr, business!

The first year I turned pro (1999) I won the 2nd event and that was a turning point for me! I realized I could hang.

Fluoro because it's invisible and a drop shot with a small plastic work would be good for deep clear, cold water
