Bassmaster Magazine recently released its list of the 100 Best Bass Lakes. As the editors were compiling the list, based on expert opinions from biologists, pro anglers and outdoor writers, they asked B.A.S.S. Facebook fans for their help, too. Amazingly, the two groups came up with the same answer to slightly different questions.

Bassmaster was looking for the best lakes based on scientific data and local experts’ observations. But the question posed to B.A.S.S. Facebook fans was “What is your favorite bass lake?”

Falcon Lake in Texas won the top spot in Bassmaster’s ranking, as well as the top spot for Facebook fans. Here are the Top 10 from Facebook; as it turns out, people’s favorite lakes also seem to be the ones that have the biggest fish. (Who would have thought?) The number in parenthesis shows where the lake ranked in Bassmaster’s 100 Best Bass Lakes.
