Elite Series Event Shortened Due To Weather

Elite anglers face a shortened day on Lake Seminole for the final day of the season opener.

BAINBRIDGE, Ga. — Sunday’s final day of the Bassmaster Elite Series event in Bainbridge, Ga., has been shortened due to safety concerns connected to an approaching afternoon storm expected to produce lightning and high winds, B.A.S.S. officials announced at 7 a.m. ET today.

The 12 pros who qualified for Sunday’s championship round will compete on Lake Seminole as planned, but they will check in at 1 p.m. instead of at 3:45 p.m. ET. The pros took off at 7:30 a.m. ET as scheduled.

The weigh-in will begin at 1 p.m. ET.

The Bassmaster Elite Series Expo will not be open Sunday. Bassmaster.com will continue with its coverage of the event, including live streaming video of the weigh-in.
