What's your favorite snack to have on the water?
Quartershare Beef Stick. I eat about six or seven a day.
Congrats on your finishes! Can you briefly discuss how you know when to get into the bushes and flip?
As soon as bushes get 1/2 full of water, fish tend to move up. When the going gets tough, pick up a flipping stick
Jason, congrats on Back2Back wins! What technique are you most comfortable with? & Confidence bait?
90% of the time, when the going gets tough, I pick up a flippin' stick with wooly bug.
Congrats on the wins, impressive!! Was wondering if you have a favourite type of drop-shot lure?
I use a small Wooly Bug, 3 inches, and cut it in half down the middle. Gives it a weird profile & the fish eat it!
1 angler you admire their skills in BASS elites and FLW Tour?
That's a long list. I'd say Larry Nixon. He's done it for years. I admire him for his skills & the kind of person he is
Do you prefer dogs or cats?
I have a beagle. So I guess that answers the question. ... My little one's allergic to cats and that's a good thing because we wouldn't have one anyway.
What is your favorite color? (not for baits, just general)
I'd say red.
What size/type of line would you use for flipping weeds in clear water?
If it's really shallow, I'd use 25-pound to make sure I can get them out. It's a reaction bite when it's that shallow.
Lebron or Durant?
Jason what is your favorite flipping set up do you use braid mono or floro when flipping
It would be a 7-3 Falcon swimbait rod, @Lews_fishing BB1 and a 5/0 TroKar hook. I use braid in hydrilla and milfoil. Every other occasion I use fluoro 20 or 25-pound. I will change my bait to make it slower or faster. It helps me make a good cast.
Did you ever skip class to go fishing?
I don't want to answer that because my kids will probably see this.
haha fair enough!
What is your favorite bedding fish bait/color for Grand @christiefishing ?
I like a white 4-inch Yum tube. I can see it better & a lot of times bedding fish on Grand will go for it
I’m trying to unlock spawn/post spawn laregmouth and i need help. Tips?
I'm trying to do the exact same thing right now & it is the toughest time of the year. Don't get hung up in one area. Look for fry.
Jason what do you think has allowed you to become such a successful angler on both FLW side and BASS side of tournament fishing?
I think I'm in the perfect scenario right now. I'm in my sixth year. I have some experience and I'm making better decisions. I'm fishing with an open mind and a lot of confidence
We need to let @christiefishing get back to fishing. Thanks for joining us! We appreciate Jason taking time from his West Point practice.
Thank you! Hopefully we get to do this again because that means I've won another tournament!
Thank you for the responses it's great to talk to the elite pros and learn things to help improve our game as anglers.
