Gear Review: Booyah Poppin Pad Crasher

What is it?

Booyah Poppin Pad Crasher

What does it do?

It is a slop frog that serves double duty by calling bass out of the thick salad while popping the water just outside the weed edge.

What sets it apart?

The Poppin’ Pad Crasher creates a tremendous amount of topwater disturbance that calls angry bass from the slop. The thin skin is durable, but easily collapses for a solid hookset.

How do I use it?

Toss this thing back into the vegetation and slowly work it back. As it reaches the weed edge, slow down and take advantage of the chugger/popper mouth on the front that moves a tremendous amount of water and forces following bass to strike. The lure is 2 1/2 inches long and weighs 1/2-ounce. It’s available in 10 froggy colors.

How much?

Editor insight:

Froggin’ is a ton of fun, in fact I’d call it one of my very favorite techniques for dragging big bass into the boat. This bait offers two in one, which is why I keep one tied on most of the year.
