The 2009 Bassmaster Elite Series season will culminate with the final day's weigh-in in Montgomery, the place where BASS was founded in 1968 and headquartered until 2005. The 2009 Angler of the Year will be crowned at the season finale and will be awarded the $200,000 top prize.

Though Florida angler Bobby Lane had put the big smackdown on the rest of the field for three days, in the final going it was closer than anybody thought when Day Four began. Lane wound up with 97 pounds, 9 ounces, 5 1/2 pounds better than runner-up Kevin VanDam, to claim his first Elite Series victory.
