Don Barone started a little thing this week where he picks a Bassmaster member from the very back of the crowd and gives them a backstage pass to watch the Elites gather up before they go on stage.   Today it was a gentleman by the name of Snooky Flowers. I learned that he's a noted baritone saxophone player. He was the band leader for Janis Joplin's Cosmic Blues Band. And he played sax for Jimmy Hendrix, among others.

The battle for the final spot

Granted, these are estimated weights, but the battle for the final spot in Sunday's Top 12 is way too close to call. BASSTrakk currently shows Keith Combs in 12th place with 52-9. But there are five anglers within 1-9 of Combs.   That list includes Chris Lane (52-3), Billy McCaghren and Randy Allen (51-8), Kevin VanDam (51-5) and Jordan Lee (51-0).
