Recently, I had the privilege of working with Rapala on some new colors for their DT baits.
I want to talk a little about fishing lure development. Sometimes it’s a carefully mapped out plan that comes together with anglers, engineers and manufacturing companies. Other times, it’s just something that happens. That’s the way it was with the new Havoc Smash Tube from Berkley.
Having the first weekend off in the 2012 Elite season isn’t my idea of a good time. Nevertheless, it’s Florida. I honestly don’t know why but the Sunshine State has always been a challenge to me.
It’s Sunday. We’re on our way to Palatka from the airport in Orlando to get ready to prefish the St. Johns River.
Before this year’s season starts, I want to take one last look back at the Classic. There are some things I want to say, things I think matter. Some are pretty but others not so much so.
We’re going to talk about my Classic at some point, but not right now.
Well, you know the story: I won’t be fishing tomorrow. I missed the cut in a tiebreaker. I’d love to tell you that it’s OK but I have to admit that it hurts.
I’m not especially happy with how things went today but I will say that it’s a fishing tournament and this is the way things go sometimes.
After a good day of practice on the Red River, Mike Iaconelli is feeling cautiously optimistic about his chances in the 2012 Bassmaster Classic.
