While you’re reading this, I’ll be doing some last minute practice on the Sabine River.
I’m in Columbus trying to get everything ready for the 2013 Bassmaster Elite Series season. It starts in just a few days, you know.
I was not at the 2013 Bassmaster Classic but I followed every minute of it online. It looked to me like this was the most organized and put together one that I have ever experienced. And what an exciting finish.

The name is Hibdon. Two of the titles (Classic championships) belong to Guido, 1988 on the James River, and Dion, 1997 on Logan Martin Lake. Guido’s grandson and Dion’s son, Payden, has a Junior title. He won the Junior Bassmaster World Championship on the Harris Chain of Lakes in 2006.
As the 2013 Bassmaster Classic approaches I thought we’d continue our look back at some of the greats, guys who are great fishermen but also great guys.

I’m on the Kissimmee Chain getting ready for the first Southern Open of the year. The weather has been fantastic here. For the past couple of weeks it’s been well above normal, temperature wise.
This past weekend I had a wonderful experience that I want to talk about. I was getting ready to go fishing when my phone rang. It was Terry Segraves.
